Layout

The site uses Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to control all of the presentation and layout. Screen Readers will no longer have to navigate tables.

As a result of the new presentation, screen reader users can use the screen reader's navigation key to get around the site. If you are listening to the site, menus are grouped together in a more logical fashion.

Making your web browser more accessible

The two most popular browsers are Internet Explorer and Firefox, although there now are other well used browsers such as Apple Safari and Opera. Below you will find a step-by-step guide to enlarging the text in your internet browser. If you have also changed the settings in your operating system and find that this does not magnify the text enough to be useful, then it is worth investigating screen magnification software.

The Instructions below will help guide you through using your browser to magnify text.

Open up your internet browser.
  • Open your browser.
  • Hold down the Ctrl button on your keyboard and press the plus (+) key.
  • You will find that this will enlarge the text, to enlarge again repeat the procedure.
  • Keep repeating until the text is enlarged to your requirements.
  • If you need to make the text smaller press ctrl on your keyboard and the minus ( - ) key .

The text in your browser window should now appear larger. If this is still too small for you then it may be that you need to look at other ways of enlarging the text on your screen, such as screen magnification software.
