I have 20 years experience of working therapeutically with people experiencing a wide range of mental health and emotional issues and designing and facilitating training and group work to clients, clinicians and professionals. I have worked in a variety of settings including community mental health teams, GP practices, a psychological therapy unit, and between 2005 and 2010 created and delivered a mental health service within a university student services department.

I am passionate about raising awareness of mental health issues in the community and in the workplace, which is why I chose to become a MHFA (adult and youth) instructor. I am also on the MHFA England National Training Team (Youth), training instructors. My vision is that by 2020 there will be mental health first aiders in every office, shop, school, night club...enough to respond to the 1 in 6 British adults and 1 in 10 British five to sixteen year olds who will be experiencing mental health problems at any given time.

I am a qualified and state registered occupational therapist registered with the Health Professions Council www.hpc-org.uk and British Association of Occupational Therapists www.cot.co.uk, a cognitive analytic therapy practitioner registered with the Association of Cognitive Analytic Therapists www.acat.me.uk , an NLP Wellbeing Coach Practitioner and an approved mental health first aid and youth mental health first aid instructor by MHFA England www.mhfaengland.org.
